Dade City is a small town and the county seat of Pasco County. Its history is rooted in citrus industry, especially kumquats, a citrus fruit eaten whole. In fact Dade City is home to the annual Kumquat Festival every January.
Dade City is popular with tourists for its antique stores, restaurants and historic architecture, including the Pasco County Courthouse, Pioneer Florida Museum, Hugh Embry Library and Edwinola.
The Pasco County school district serves the area at these schools: Pasco Elementary, Pasco Middle and Pasco High.
