Lutz (say it Loots) is an unincorporated, growing area in northern Hillsborough and southern Pasco counties. Residents have a strong connection to their community history and heritage, and are proud of the small-town charm that Lutz retains. Not merely the feel of open spaces but a peaceful community with roads winding around lakes and wetlands full of birds and deer. Lutz’s rich history began with the construction of a small train depot on the Tampa Northern Railroad in the early 1900s, the one-room Old Lutz School House and a post office.

There are two beautiful golf course communities in Lutz: Cheval and Heritage Harbor. Lutz has grown substantially in the past 10 years with new eateries (including Chick-Fil-A!) and shops popping up around town. Lutz borders the neighboring towns of Land O Lakes and Wesley Chapel and many businesses are technically located in Lutz including the Tampa Premium Outlets. There are mom-and-pop shops and restaurants as well as big box stores (including Publix, Target, Walmart and Aldi) and chain restaurants (Carabbas, Chilis, etc.)
