Located just 5 miles north of downtown Tampa in central Hillsborough County, Seminole Heights is a hip, vibrant community with quaint 20th-century homes and historic bungalows. It has seen a resurgence in the last 10 years with quaint restaurants, brew pubs and boutiques opening along Florida Avenue. Seminole Heights is also close to ZooTampa at Lowry Park and is home to a monthly farmers' market.

Seminole Heights is a well-established suburb of Tampa with historic homes. There is some new construction (tearing down old homes and rebuilding) but mostly historic single-family homes. It is a small community with less than 10,000 homes in the historic district.

Seminole Heights is a walkable community. The entire area of the community is only a few square miles. Most of the parks, shops and restaurants are located along Florida Avenue. Seminole Garden Center on Central Avenue offers a small place for enjoying nature and also has a historic building available for rentals and weddings.

Seminole Heights continues to grow but mostly in shops and restaurants. Most residents head to downtown Tampa, Armature Works and Ybor City for nightlife and things to do. But ZooTampa at Lowry Park neighbors Seminole Heights and Busch Gardens is only 5 miles to the northeast.
Places to shop in Seminole Heights
New businesses continue to pop up in Seminole Heights with many cute little boutiques including Green Shift Comics, Blue Sage Eco Boutique and the Seminole Heights General Store. But our favorite option is the Sunday Market, held the 2nd Sunday of each month on the lawn by historic Hillsborough High School. Local growers and artists come to sell their unique wares.
There aren’t many grocery stores in Seminole Heights but in the neighboring communities you will find a Publix, Walmart and Save-A-Lot.
