What to do this month in Tampa Bay | August 2022
There's always something going on in Tampa Bay, and this month is no different! Here are just a few of the many things you can do in the area this month:
Bolts Brew Fest
Aug. 5 at Amalie Arena at 8pm
Brew Fest is coming to town and you know what that means – beer samples galore! This is your chance to try out some of the best craft beers from all over the country. Whether you’re a beer aficionado or just looking for something new to drink, this event is for you. Come on out and sample beer from 50 local breweries, national brands and international brewers. There will be something for everyone! Plus music, games, photo opportunities and other fun surprises!
Back to School Bash 2022
Aug. 6 at Raymond James Stadium from 9a-1p
Looking for a back-to-school event that's fun for the whole family? Look no further than the Bullard Family Foundation's back-to-school event! Free medical, dental and vision services, as well as free haircuts, free food and free entertainment - there's something for everyone. Plus, they're giving away 30,000 backpacks with school supplies while supplies last. Tampa International Fringe Festival
Through Aug. 7 at HCC-Ybor YPAB building
The Fringe Festival is back and better than ever! This year, we've got a lineup of shows that will appeal to everyone, from clowns to improv, burlesque to theatre. We've also got three great venues for the festival, so you can choose what kind of experience you want to have. Ticket packages available. This year’s Kids Fringe is Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30am-2:30pm, with two shows: A Goofy Musical and After Happily Ever After. There is also a story time and arts & crafts. Kids Fringe is completely FREE for children but reservations are STRONGLY encouraged as space is very limited. Adult tickets are those two shows are $10 or FREE with a WIC/SNAP card.
2022 U.S. Gymnastics Championships
Aug. 18-21 at Amalie Arena from daily beginning at 1:30 and 7p
The gymnastics national championships are returning to Tampa for the first time in 18 years, and will be held at Amalie Arena. This prestigious event will feature the country's top gymnasts competing in the junior and senior all-around and individual events. The U.S. Men's and Women's National Teams will also be named following the competition.
Tampa Home Show
Aug. 20-21 at the Tampa Convention Center
The Home Show is the perfect place to find the latest trends in home improvement. You’ll have the opportunity to speak with experts in kitchens, baths, landscaping, pools, security systems, windows, solar and much more. With so many experts in one place, you’re sure to find the answers to all your home improvement questions. And hopefully a few new design ideas too.
Summer Rum & Seafood Festival
Aug. 27 at the Tampa Premium Outlet
The Summer Rum & Seafood Festival will feature rum from multiple distilleries, as well as specialty cocktails and food from local restaurants and food trucks. There will also be live music from The Sapphire Band at 6:15pm and Come Monday - A Jimmy Buffet Tribute at 8:30pm. Come hungry for crab legs, fish tacos, lobster rolls and more. $10 entry - rum & food are extra.

The Tampa Bay Bucs open their preseason at home at Raymond James on Aug. 13 vs. the Dolphins.
The Tampa Bay Rays host the Blue Jays Aug. 2-3; Orioles Aug. 12-14; Royals Aug. 18-21; Angels Aug. 22-25
