Rainy day fun spots for kids in Tampa | Indoor activities near me

We’re heading into the rainy season here in Tampa which may keep us indoors in the afternoons. Our kids still have lots of energy to burn off so what options do we have to keep them entertained? Thinking outside the box of the movies, museums and mall playgrounds, here are some of our favorite rainy day activities for kids in Tampa.

Bowling

AMF, Pinchasers, Brandon Crosswords, Splitsville

Grab a pair of socks and head out to throw a few strikes. Most of the Tampa Bay area bowling alleys have open bowling daily. Most also have a snack bar so you can make a day of it.

Did you know there is a Kids Bowl Free program? Kids can register to bowl 2 free games per day. A family pass is available to allow adults to bowl at a discounted price. There are several centers in the Tampa Bay area participating. Check out kidsbowlfree.com.

Trampoline park

We dare you to spend the afternoon and not feel exhausted! There are several indoor trampoline parks around the Bay area. Again most have a snack bar so you can refuel in between bouncing.

Many of these places are for the under 10 crowd. Most of the facilities have a separate toddler area as well.

Laser tag

Indoor game center where you don a special vest and laser gun and try to avoid getting tagged during your round. Many of the laser tag arenas have arcades attached.

Skeeball, video games and, if you’re good, tickets for prizes. A great way for adults to relive their childhood remembering the Pacman and Donkey Kong days (did that age me).

The tunes are blasting at the local skating rinks for open skate most days during the summer. They have themed activities as well as summer camps and group specials. Grab your neighborhood friends for an afternoon of fun.
