Inexpensive indoor fun in Tampa Bay

The kids have been out of school a few weeks and we’re starting to hear “I’m bored.”

And this week is supposed to be very rainy so it’s time to find some indoor activities for a fun-filled day no matter what Mother Nature has in store. This fun won’t break the bank (admission generally less than $20 adults) so don't let the rain get you down!

Here are 6 INDOOR FUN things to do around Tampa Bay:

Trampoline park

Flying Squirrel Trampoline Park

Flying Squirrel Lutz is a large trampoline park with a climbing wall, battle beam, pro dunk hoops, air bag, aerial silks, air track tumbling floor, dodgeball, zip line and separate children’s area. Cost for 60 minutes of fun is $19.

Pin Chasers Bowling

Zephyrhills, Midtown Tampa, West Tampa

Pin Chasers has several locations around the Tampa Bay area that offer bowling, arcade and cafe. You can pay by the game ($10 adults, $9 kids) or by the hour (starting at $14.99 for 2 hours). Shoes are free.

Tampa Museum of Art

120 W Gasparilla Plaza, Tampa

The art museum offers a pay-as-you-will program on Thursday from 4-8pm to explore the various art exhibits. On the first Saturday of each month, the museum offers Art Spot Online, a free online art program that allows participants of all ages and any skill level to make art at home with everyday art supplies and household materials.

Tampa Bay Skating Academy

Oldsmar and Countryside Mall

Cool and indoors! Check the Web site for open public ice skating. TBSA also offers learn-to-skate classes, figure skating, hockey, camps and parties. 90 minute public skate $17 plus skate rental ($8)

Florida Children's Museum in Lakeland

600 Bonnet Springs Blvd, Lakeland

The Florida Children's Museum is a brand new museum in Bonnet Springs Park. It's geared for kids up to age 12 featuring two floors of interactive learning fun including a Publix exhibit, stop motion exhibit and more! United Skates of America

5121 N. Armenia Ave, Tampa

United Skates is one of America's Top 10 Great Places To Skate according to USA Today! They have public skating sessions for children, teens and adults along with live DJs and a huge arcade. $14 per person (includes skates) or $11 with your own skates.
