Fun Things to Do in Wesley Chapel

Wesley Chapel is a fast-growing city about 30 minutes north of downtown Tampa, FL. Wesley Chapel is located in Pasco County and had a 2020 population of 58,208. Its population has increased by 32% since the last census. Here are our favorite things to do in Wesley Chapel, FL.

Sports. There are so many new places to play and have fun for both adults and kids in Wesley Chapel. First, Wiregrass Ranch Sports Campus. There are indoor courts for basketball, volleyball and soccer; a cheerleading zone; outdoor soccer fields and event lawn; summer camps and sports training including for professional sports players. They also have open gym times as well as leagues for both kids and adults.

There is also the Wesley Chapel District Park which has lighted fields for football and soccer, baseball and softball fields, basketball courts and tennis courts.

Center Ice is a new ice skating complex in Wesley Chapel. They offer open skate as well as figure skating and adult and kid hockey leagues. The ice complex rents skates or you can bring your own.

A great new entertainment facility that offers fun things to do in Wesley Chapel FL is Main Event. It’s all kinds of indoor fun in one spot. They have video games, virtual reality games, bowling, billiards, laser tag   and a gravity obstacle course. It’s great for a date night or family fun.

A little different and a one-of-a-kind fun in Tampa Bay is The Lagoon. This is a 7-acre man-made lagoon in Epperson Lagoon that is open to the public. They have a beautiful sandy beach with chairs and umbrellas, kayaking, paddleboarding and an obstacle course. Tickets are around $16 for the day. Restaurants. The restaurant scene has exploded in the Wesley Chapel area in the last several years. There is a large variety of options including sports bistro Walk-on, Bahama Breeze with an outdoor bar, Cheddars, BJs which has a brewery and more. There are also all kinds of fast food including Chic-Fil-A, Culvers, Taco Bell, Starbucks and several pizza places.

Interstates. Wesley Chapel is convenient to interstates I-75 and I-275 making for convenient travel to downtown Tampa, the airport or the beaches. Wesley Chapel is also convenient to interstates that will take you to Orlando and Disney in about an hour.

Shopping. Lots of great shopping opportunities in Wesley Chapel. There is the Tampa Premium Outlets which offers your traditional outlet stores like Nike, Puma, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Coach and more. There are also lots of restaurants around the outlet area. There is also Wiregrass Mall, an open-air shopping and dining area with stores like Macys, Dillards, JC Penney and Build-A-Bear and restaurants including Yamatos, Moe’s, Pinchers and The Brass Tap.

Hospital and medical facilities. Because the Wesley Chapel area is booming, so is the need for medical facilities. Wesley Chapel has its own hospital, AdventHealth Wesley Chapel, as well as many doctors offices nearby. The VA hospital is less than 30 minutes from Wesley Chapel.
