Florida Avenue Brewing

With more than 75 breweries in the area, Tampa Bay has made its mark on the brew scene.

And the Tampa Bay area especially is well known for its craft breweries. One of the most notable is Florida Avenue Brewing, which got its start in 2010 on – you guessed it – Florida Avenue in Tampa. They recently opened their new brewery/restaurant in bustling Wesley Chapel. 

We had to stop for a bite and a tour of the fabulous facility. They sure live by their motto: beer brewed with passion has love in every sip.

Brewed on site

Florida Avenue Brewing Company brews their beer on site. They have 18 craft beers on tap at all times, including 8 rotating seasonal brews. Some of our favorites are the Passion of the Heights (tropical wheat ale), Neopolitan (Berliner Weisse) and Luminescence (IPA).

They also have a wide variety of crafts brews from other local breweries as well as ecclectic mixed drinks. Maria really enjoyed her That's My Jam, Lisa raved about her spicy maragarita and our photographer Teppei appreciated the refreshing Pasco Punch.

Family friendly

Florida Avenue Brewing is family friendly. They have a large menu, including a kids menu. And an spacious outdoor area with Adirondack chairs and room for kids to play.

Amazing food

An eclectic menu that still has our mouths watering. Pretzels with house-made beer cheese dip, house-made cheesesteak egg rolls, fish & chips, burgers and flatbreads. We enjoyed the Buffalo chicken flatbread, Buffalo cauliflower with blue cheese crumble, BLT salad and spicy chicken sandwich. All was amazing!

Special events

Florida Avenue Brewing has live music on Friday and Saturday nights as well as beer pairing (think cheese & charcuterie with a brew), trivia nights and even comedy nights. And they have several rooms for private events.

For St. Patrick’s Day they’ll be serving their seasonal Finncullen’s, Irish Stout along with Rueben sandwiches and corned beef and cabbage.

Brewery tours

Florida Avenue Brewing offers 30-minute behind-the-scenes tours of their state-of-the-art production facility. Tours are offered every Saturday at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm. Cost is $12 and guests receive a beer, an up-close look at the state-of-the-art production facility and a souvenir pint glass. Capacity is limited, must be 21+ and wear closed-toed shoes.
