August Things to Do in Tampa Bay

We’re officially in the Dog Days of Summer. The heat, the rain, the mosquitos! With school starting for Tampa Bay area kids next week, here are a few weekend activites to keep you busy.

Back to School Bash - Aug. 7

WWE star, philanthropist and Tampa native Titus O’Neil plans to host his annual “Back to School Bash” at Raymond James Stadium Aug. 7 beginning at 9:01am. O’Neil, whose real name Thaddeus Bullard, and his Bullard Family Foundation partner with AdventHealth, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Tampa Bay Lightning, WWE and more to provide children with backpacks, school supplies, health physicals and dental and vision screenings during the event.

O’Neil is bringing a special guest to help out this year: Florida native, rapper and singer Flo Rida. The duo will be holding a “battle of the bands” showcase for high school bands.

End of Summer Music Blowout - Aug. 7

Students honing their skills in summer music classes at the Patel Conservatory are featured in this performance that’s sure to get your toes tapping with a final musical blowout before the new school year begins. Video Game Revolution - ongoing

New exhibit at MOSI: Video Game Revolution: From Pong to Esports. Take a journey through the history of video games! From computer to console to smart phone, this exhibit celebrates everything gaming. See a replica of the very first video game ever built in the 1940s, bring back childhood memories with 80s style arcade games and explore the world of modern-day e-sports. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - select dates
