2022 Gasparilla Children's Parade Tampa FL
It’s Gasparilla Season! Nothing says Tampa Bay like the Gasparilla Parades (yes more than one!). It’s Tampa’s largest party! Check out the details of one of our favorite local events.
First up in the Children’s Parade.
Children’s Gasparilla (including Preschoolers Stroll, Air Invasion and Parade)
January 22, 2022
11a-7p (Invasion Noon, Stroll 1p, Parade 3:30p, nighttime invasion with fireworks 6p)
Turn your eyes to the skies at noon to kickoff the festivities with the Gasparilla Air Invasion. High-flying acts include civilian aerobatic teams, vintage military aircraft and the USSOCOM Parachute Demonstration Team. The show begins at noon. There will be a nighttime air invasion and “piratechnic” finale beginning at 6p (when the parade ends).
The Gasparilla Preschoolers’ Stroll is designed to give pint-sized pirates (children under 5) a chance at parade-style fun. The Preschoolers’ Stroll allows pre-registered families to walk down part of the parade route. Starting at Howard Avenue, the stroll continues down Bayshore Boulevard in decorated wagons, strollers and tricycles! The Gasparilla Preschoolers’ Stroll is open to the public but participants must pre-register, be dressed in pirate-themed attire and be accompanied by an adult to participate. Motorized vehicles of any sort are not permitted.
The Children’s Gasparilla Parade is all the same fun as the main Gasparilla event but is family-friendly and alcohol-free. The parade takes place along Bayshore Boulevard from Bay to Bay Boulevard north to Edison Avenue. The Children's Gasparilla Parade traditionally hosts Krewes on floats, marching bands, dance groups, school performance teams and community organizations. Note: At the Children’s Gasparilla Parade, you do not need a reserved ticket to cross to the waterside of the parade route. Parade Crossings are located each block of the parade route from Barcelona to Edison …. allowing access to the waterside of Bayshore Boulevard. The parade begins at 3:30p.
The following weekend the city hosts the main Gasparilla Parade.
